Funds hazardous fuels reduction, fuel breaks identified in a CWPP, roadside vegetation modification for evacuation egress, community chipping and green waste programs, ladder fuel and hazard tree removal, seasonal prescribed grazing, defensible space assistance for low-income, elderly and disabled households, plan creation and updates, and public education.
Recommended award $950,000 or less. Equipment allowable up to $750,000 cumulative. Indirect cost allowable at 15 to 20 percent, or a federally negotiated rate.
Match is not required but is a scored positive. Additional priority goes to projects benefiting disadvantaged or low-income communities, projects demonstrating a carbon benefit, projects maintaining existing treatments, and projects from agencies on the Fire Risk Reduction Community List, which includes this District. Proposition 4 also requires that at least 40 percent of funds benefit vulnerable populations or disadvantaged communities.
Proposition 4 gives preference to projects using the California Conservation Corps or a certified community conservation corps, which is the hinge described in card 50.
